The Friends of the Arboretum presents the 2nd Annual Quilt & Art Festival at the Arboretum on the grounds of the Governor Jim Hogg Park! Meet painters, sculptors, fine wood workers, potters, weavers, jewelery makers and other fine artisans and craftsmen who will showcase their talents amidst the backdrop of a spectacular and colorful display of quilts.
Let Us Showcase Your Quilts!
As a sponsor of this event, our goal is to showcase East Texas's rich quilting heritage, and we need YOUR help! We want to fill the park with your beautiful quilts. Quilts of every kind! Art quilts, traditional pieced quilts, applique ... the possibilites are limitless. As we have learned in the past, the park is a wonderful atmosphere for a quilt show. We want to color the park with hundreds of quilts.Interested in letting us show your quilts?
LET US KNOW ASAP!
So that we can plan spacing, if you are interested in showing your quilt, or quilts, please contact us as soon as possible with a number and description/size of your quilt. You do not need to drop off your quilts until the week of the festival.
Call 903-763-5048, email us at info@stitchinheaven.com, or stop by the shop Mon-Sat 10am-5pm.
Click here for a printable Quilt Submission Sheet.
Deadline to drop off your quilts is May 9th.
Local musicians have been invited to entertain throughout the park, and the Historic Stinson House will be open for tours. And, let us not forget the tempting smells drifting through the park from the concession area. There's nothing better than lunch in the park, and I even hear there will be hot dogs and funnel cakes!
Bras 'n Boots will have a display inside the StinsonHouse so that you can see what all the talk was about at the 2010 Style+ Show. You'll also find information for model nominations and find out what you need to mak a bra for our 2011 Style Show.
The Quilt & Art Festival's goal is to celebrate East Texas's cultural arts, with the benefits going to help the growth of the Governor Hogg Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
Governor Jim Hogg Park is located at
100 Gov. Hogg Parkway, Quitman, TX 75783.
*** In case of rain, the festival will be cancelled. ***
