♪♫ "Oooee, ooooee Baby... Ahoy, quilters! We are so excited to offer this wonderful quilting cruise to the Caribbean. In partner with Cruises by Al & Pat Magee, and Texas Quiltworks, we hope to give you the time of your life while you cruise the seas, and quilt in style aboard Carnival's cruise ship, the Conquest. Please note: To attend quilt classes and participate in the activities, you must book the quilting cruise on Stitchin' Heaven web site or with Cruises by Al & Pat Magee directly. Join us for a 7-Day Western Caribbean Cruise featuring 3 well-known quilting teachers: Trish Stuart, Debbie Maddy, and Sara Moe. We will depart from Galveston, Texas on February 21, 2010, then travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. During your 3 fun days at sea, you'll be 'entertained' with quilting classes, sewing, and the many fun activities aboard the ship. This will be a 7-Day roundtrip cruise leaving from Galveston, Texas on the Carnival Conquest. The ship is decorated in an Impressionist theme. The cabins aboard the Conquest are large, and luxurious. The decor inside is rather calm, but somewhat upscale. The bathrooms are comfortable enough, and certainly functional. Only suites have tubs. Carnival has introduced an amenity basket in its bathrooms, filled with disposable razors, deodorant, breath mints, toothpaste and soap. Storage space is generous with full-length closets, shelves, drawers, and cabinet spaces. Flat screen televisions were added with the renovation so you can sit back and enjoy a movie while you're taking a break from sewing and cruising. If you would like to view the Itinerary For The Cruise, click here to visit Carnival's website. Please note: To attend quilt classes and participate in the activities, you must book the quilting cruise on Stitchin' Heaven web site or with Cruises by Al & Pat Magee directly. Classes will be held during our three "at sea" days. There are three classs, and three teachers, so everyone will be able to enjoy a class with each of the teachers. Don't worry, students will not have to rotate classrooms, the teachers will come to you. For only $149.95, we'll supply you with a pre-cut fabric kit for all three classes. That's right! Debby will be cutting these kits herself, so you know they'll be cut correctly.☺ We don't want you to have to spend your class time cutting, so we're doing the work for you. Just let us know if you want a kit, and we'll have it ready and waiting when you arrive on board. Prior to departure, we will contact you regarding the specific fabric selections available for your kit.
Be prepared for a stimulating week of sewing. The class area will be open daily, and late into the night (but not all night), so, you're sure to get plenty of time to sew. You may choose to be a tourist and depart the ship at the ports or stay and explore the ship and continue to sew on your projects. It's all up to you!

Art Nouveau style and a neutral fabric let the quilter modify the colors of the applique to fit any decor or gift occasion. Using fusible applique will allow you to easily twine the vines and cut out the detail pieces. A new and unique method of piecing the angled strips in the blocks let's you speed piece the units that make up the diamond shape. There is no worrying about bias stretching and you still get to scrap it up for more visual interest. The stars are simply half square triangles to give you the two larger blocks in the pieced top so they go together FAST making this quilt doable in the 6 hour time frame we have on the cruise! We'll also be adding a 4" border to the final piece.

She hopes to meet many of you on the cruise.
