So, we have developed this program to help you with your movie selection, to provide you with a fun escape, and to offer you a very unique combination. With this program you will receive a DVD movie and a quilt that are "coordinated". Projects will be less than $99 with Club membership and you will get the movie on DVD, the pattern, the fabric for the complete top...and a few other surprises! |

Member fee: $25 Register today and we will know to reserve a kit for you every month! Don't want a kit one month? No problem. Your club membership comes with 3 movie "passes". You can purchase each month one project at a time. The drawback in this method is that you will pay a bit more and you are not guaranteed a project. When we sell out of them--they will be gone.

Australian Peter Weir's first Hollywood film tells the story of John Book (Harrison Ford), a Philadelphia cop whose life is altered while trying to help Rachel (Kelly McGillis), an Amish woman, and her son Samuel (Lukas Haas), who witnesses a murder in a Philadelphia train station bathroom. After discovering that the murder was committed by a member of his force, Book travels to Lancaster County with Rachel and Samuel and poses as a member of the Amish community to hide from his murderous police peers. While there, love blooms between Rachel and Book, and he finds himself drawn in by the honesty and simplicity of the old-world Amish lifestyle. Fine performances and beautiful cinematography are prevalent throughout.
Designed by Deb, the quilt is Amish-inspired, and beautiful in it's simplicity. An age-old pattern, the basket, is pieced in bright colors, and set on a black background. The inner border of bright star blocks frames the center block, and gives the quilt an added 'pop' of color. This is a wonderful quilt that is simple, fun, and striking! A truly perfect movie, the 1942 Casablanca still wows viewers today, and for good reason. Its unique story of a love triangle set against terribly high stakes in the war against a monster is sophisticated instead of outlandish, intriguing instead of garish. Humphrey Bogart plays the allegedly apolitical club owner in unoccupied French territory that is nevertheless crawling with Nazis; Ingrid Bergman is the lover who mysteriously deserted him in Paris; and Paul Heinreid is her heroic, slightly bewildered husband. Claude Rains, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Conrad Veidt are among what may be the best supporting cast in the history of Hollywood films. This is certainly among the most spirited and ennobling movies ever made.

All the way from 1962, Lawrence of Arabia is still a much-loved movie, and a classic that should be enjoyed by all. Director David Lean follows the heroic true-life odyssey of T.E. Lawrence (Peter O'Toole) in this dramatic portrait of the famed British officer's journey to the Middle East. Assigned to Arabia during World War I, Lawrence courageously unites the warring Arab factions into a strong guerrilla front and leads them to brilliant victories in treacherous desert battlefields where they eventually defeat the ruling Turkish Empire. The film features a literate script by Robert Bolt and an outstanding cast, which also includes Claude Rains, Jack Hawkins, Arthur Kennedy, Anthony Quinn, Jose Ferrer, and Omar Sharif in his unforgettable desert-crossing debut.

Though she can spin wild tales of passionate romance, novelist Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner) has no life of her own. Then one day adventure comes her way in the form of a mysterious package. FEBRUARY: Yours, Mine and Ours
Based on a true story, and starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda, this classic movie from 1968, was a huge box office success. When a widower with 10 children marries a widow with 8, can the 20 of them ever come together as one big happy family? From finding a house big enough for all of them and learning to make 18 school lunches, to coping with a son going off to war and an unexpected addition to the family, Yours, Mine and Ours attempts to blend two families into one and hopes to answer the question Is bigger really better?
Using Quilting Treasures' fabric line, this quilt features a classic moment in I Love Lucy comedy -- the Chocolate Factory scene. The good (if not fully evolved) citizens of Bedrock make their way to the big screen in this live-action adaptation of the popular animated series of the 1960s. Fred Flintstone (John Goodman) and his best friend Barney Rubble (Rick Moranis) work together at the Slate & Company Rock Quarry. When Fred loans Barney some money that allows him and his wife Betty (Rosie O'Donnell) to adopt a child, Barney is looking for a way to show his gratitude. Barney thinks he's found one when the executives at Slate and Company announce that they're giving all their employees intelligence tests to help determine future promotions. When Barney switches his high-scoring test with Fred's, his plan works -- but not quite the way he had hoped: Fred is deemed executive material and given a big promotion, complete with a sexy secretary (Halle Berry) who makes his wife Wilma (Elizabeth Perkins) jealous, while Barney is soon out of a job and can't pay his bills. Bill Hanna and Joseph Barbara, who created the original television series, make cameo appearances here; Elizabeth Taylor gives a fine comic performance as Wilma's nagging mother, and Harvey Korman provides the voice of the Dictabird.

Beetlejuice is a visually inventive and imaginative comedy taken to a uniquely grotesque and funny level by the manic performance of Michael Keaton in the title role. In this surreal, wonderfully cartoon-like comedy, a childless couple, Barbara and Adam (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin), move to the country only to be killed in a car accident while passing over a quaint covered bridge. FEBRUARY: A Walk in the Clouds
A Walk in the Clouds is an extravagantly romantic fable directed by Alfonso Arau. Keanu Reeves plays Paul Sutton, a World War II veteran who, fleeing from the woman he hastily married before going overseas, meets and befriends a pregnant girl, Victoria (Aitana Sanchez-Gijon), on a bus and fatefully agrees to pose as her husband to help her avoid her vineyard-owner father’s wrath.
Our quilt pictures a view through the window of a romantic outdoors scene. In rich purple, golden and green hues, you will believe you are right there, enjoying the sunset on a vinyard in Napa Valley. The finished quilt measures approx. 76" x 64".

Spectacular, beautiful filming of author Isak Dinesen's accounts of her life in 1910s Africa won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Director. Meryl Streep stars as the Danish woman who reluctantly goes to Africa with husband Klaus Maria Brandauer to run a coffee plantation, but slowly comes to fall in love with the untamed land and with hunter Robert Redford; directed by Sydney Pollack.

Jackie (Susan Sarandon) and
Luke (Ed Harris) are divorcing after years of marriage and
two children, Anna and Ben. Their new stepmother, Isabel
(Julia Roberts), wants to be involved in the children's
life, but is unwilling to sacrifice anything for her work.
Jackie considers this to be selfish and rude, sparking a
conflict between the two women. When cancer enters the
picture, everyone is forced to grow in order to settle their
differences.
This is one of those films we all agree as women that we
love. We love the emotion and we love the quilts that
are shown throughout especially the scene where Susan
Sarandon has made a memory quilt using photo transfers for
her children.
Since"StepMom" is being
featured in September our project was designed to celebrate
Breast Cancer Awareness month. 
All of us have been
touched by this devastating disease in some way or another.
This may be a quilt for you to make for yourself to
celebrate being a survivor or perhaps it will be a quilt you
will make to give to a friend. Either way you will
love working with these fabrics designed by Karen Neuberger
