 Carol
Doak
As a best-selling author, celebrated
teacher and lecturer and award-winning quiltmaker, Carol
Doak has greatly influenced the art and craft of quiltmaking
for more than a decade, in the U.S. and internationally. Her
accomplishments include a sizable collection of popular
books, with over one million books in print. It is no secret
that Carol has raised the popularity of paper-piecing, her
trademark technique, to heights never before seen in the
world of quiltmaking. She also has an impressive range of
beautiful blue-ribbon quilts featured in several books, such
as Great American Quilts 1990 and The Quilt
Encyclopedia, as well as the covers of numerous
magazines.
Carol's lighthearted approach and ability to teach have
earned her high marks and positive comments from workshop
participants worldwide and at national shows such as the
Houston International Quilt Festival and the American
Quilter's Society Show. If you have ever taken a class from
Carol, you know that her enthusiasm for quiltmaking is
infectious. Carol has a gift of sharing her inspiring ideas
with her students in such a positive and unique way.
Carol's history within quiltmaking is nothing short of
remarkable, and the future of quiltmaking will benefit from
her generous knowledge, enthusiasm, and most of all from her

 Charlotte
Angotti
While shopping with her mother in 1978, Charlotte wandered
into a quilt shop and everything changed form there.
Educated in fine arts, speech and drama, she brings a
variety of talents to the class in a most humorous way.
Charlotte has been teaching quilt making since
1979...because someone asked her to teach them. Her first
quilt was sold right after making it and she has sold her
quilts ever since. She owned a quilt shop in Virginia Beach,
VA from 1981- 1999. She began teaching nationally in 1991
and has taught for many large shows as well as small
groups.
Along with her kit business, Quilt Maker's Studio, she now
teaches and lectures full time and lives in Conway, SC.
She has 11 patterns, and a new book written with Debbie
Caffrey coming out in May 2012.
Known for her humor, her way with fabric/color and her
pre-cut kits, Charlotte believes her hobby is quilt making
and her job is teaching others to enjoy it as much as she
does.

Caffrey
Debbie Caffrey is a
self-published author of thirteen books, dozens of patterns,
and more than 200 mystery quilt patterns. Her fourteenth
book, Surprise Yourself!, is co-authored with Charlotte
Angotti. The new book will be released in May 2012.
Debbie began teaching energy-filled workshops in 1983 while
living in Alaska. She has been teaching nationally and
internationally since 1994. In 2000 she moved back to New
Mexico.
Debbie brings efficient, precise, and contemporary
techniques to making quilts. Her patterns reflect an updated
look inspired by traditional pieced designs. While based
upon tradition, her inspiration comes from many sources.
Art, architecture, culture, nature, and cuisine are just a
few of the things in New Mexico that inspire designs and
fabric selections for her quilt. Another thing that inspires
her quilts is her love for puzzles of all kinds: crossword,
jigsaw, Sudoku, logic puzzles, “Whodunnit” mysteries, etc… |
The Classes & Sewing Times:
"Stars
Over Hawaii"
Carol has
designed this beautiful quilt measuring 51" x 51" just for
our trip together. We will have not have a Storm at Sea
while spending time with her laughing, sharing story (that's
a Hawaiian term, y'all), and getting to know one another.
This quilt is made from some beautiful batik fabrics that
you will make you fall in love. Beautiful coral, teal, and
purple - what could be better?
"Let
Me Surprise You!"
Finally a class that you know you have brought the right
things! A seam ripper, pins and thread. The machines are
going to be there and I'll bring the fabric! Already cut and
ready for you to start sewing. This kit is designed just for
the cruise. No hints of color, pattern or size are
given...it's a surprise! Here are the only hints...you will
have a very relaxing day full of fun and laughs, oh, and
you'll make new friends! The quilt will be a fabulous
bonus. Due to the nature of this class the pre-cut kit is
required. The fabrics are all 100% top quality and you will
have great fun playing with them. These images shown are
examples of quilts that have actually come from this very

means "mystery" in the Hawaiian language and mystery quilts
is what Debbie Caffrey is all about. She has designed this
one exclusively for our cruise and we will offer it
in several differnt and delicious color choices - Island
Punch, Molten
Lava, and Under the Sea. (Fabric images  shown
are for
color purposes only - actual fabrics will most
likely differ) You will just love making this beautiful
mystery quilt
with Debbie showing you the way!

The Ship:
 Guests of Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas® will embark on the course other cruise ships hope to someday follow. When you're not enjoying the magnificent ocean views, you'll be relaxing in the soothing Day Spa, swimming in one of the pools, taking a much-needed whirlpool or catching up with friends in one of eight lounges.

Onboard Activities, Entertainment, Exercise and Dining!
Where to begin? It can be very hard to relax on Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas®, even on sea days, because of the head-spinning array of activities that run from dawn to dusk and beyond! The ship's entertainment staff offers an intriguing blend of options, and everyone, from the most traditional passenger to the completely contemporary traveler, will enjoy something.
During the day, if you don't want to sew, you'll find plenty of activities, such as bingo, dance lessons, horse racing, art auctions, Mr. Sexy Legs contests, rock-climbing wall competitions, bridge play, art and craft workshops and films in the cinema. Poolside, throughout the day, a live band plays a blend of Caribbean and American songs, and parades take over the Promenade's main thoroughfare.
 Nighttime sees a similar variety of entertainment options. The gorgeous La Scala Theater is a state-of-the-art show lounge inspired by the legendary one in Milan, Italy. There is an excellent Broadway-style production show with a full cast of singers and dancers that is not to be missed! Or, why not try your luck in the Las Vegas-style casino, with slot machines, dice games, and card tables.
Spa and Fitness:
 There is everything under the sun here. You can play basketball, volleyball or paddle ball in the full-length sports court; climb to 200 feet over the sea in the rock-climbing wall (if you've never tried it, no worries -- they give you a lesson before you set off); and practice your golf swings at miniature golf and a golf simulator. The ship also has two pools, six whirlpools and a jogging track (five times around equals a mile).
The Steiner-operated Ship Shape Center and Day Spa has 14 massage and treatment rooms; a relaxation area with sea views; full-service beauty salon; oceanview workout area with stereo and TV monitors; 66 Reebok machines including 20 treadmills; free weights; and an aerobics area with wood-suspended floor, mirrored wall, two large-screen TV monitors and wrap-around windows. One of the spa's nicest features is its round hydrotherapy pool.
Dining:
The onboard dining venues cater to any craving. Going hungry is not an option. To make your mouth water, here are just a small few of the
 options available onboard Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas®!
The elegant main dining room offers fantastic food and a supremely attentive wait staff. With world-class décor, heavenly entrees, delectable desserts and dining options to suit a range of vacationing needs, this is fine dining that everyone can enjoy.
Scrumptious salads, Juicy burgers. Spectacular views. That's only the beginning of what you'll find at the casual and convenient Windjammer Café buffet style restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
At Latté-tudes, a modern-day coffee bar, you will relax with a frothy cup of cappuccino and a light snack while you watch the world go by.
General Information
Cabins:
 With so much to do onboard, chances are really good that you will just use your cabin for changing and sleeping, but it's nice to know that if you want to spend more time there, you will indeed be comfortable. All standard staterooms are attractively decorated in soft tones with fine light woods and two pieces of artwork on the walls. Each stateroom has two beds that convert to queen-size, a private bath, phone, interactive flat-screen TV, mini-bar, hair dryers and air conditioning/heat controls. Bathrooms are on the small side, but functional, and showers have those wonderful, half-round sliding doors as opposed to clingy curtains. Soap and shampoo are also provided.
Dress:
During the day, dress is casual. Evenings are either casual, smart casual or formal. On casual nights, suggested attire is sports shirts and slacks for men and sundresses or pants for women. On smart casual evenings, men should don jackets and tie, with women wearing dresses or pantsuits. On the one or two formal nights per cruise, men can choose from tuxedos or suits and ties, while woman usually wear cocktail dresses.
Gratuities:
Gratuities are not included in your reservation costs. We
recommend $3.75 per person, per day to the dining room waiter;
$5.00 per person, per day to the cabin steward (or $7.25 if
you're in a suite); and $2.15 per person, per day to the assistant
waiter. Also recommended is $0.75 per person, per day to the
headwaiter. Since we are classified as a group on the ship, Stitchin' Heaven Travel is required to pre-pay these gratuities
for our entire group. Once the cruise is complete we will
charge your fees to your credit card unless you tell us you
prefer to take care of these charges with check/cash. A 15
percent gratuity is automatically added to bar tabs.
Prices
Cruise prices includes the Royal Caribbean Cruise, stateroom, fine dining,
exciting on-board entertainment, all quilting classes, group activities and parties.

cruise leaves from Vancouver, BC and ends in Honolulu,
HI. You are responsible for travel to the ship in
